The Dales are famous for its wonderful scenery. Deep valleys, known as dales, with roads meandering between drystone walls and a patchwork of hay meadows and field barns. Up above is heather moorland and distinctive hills, such as the much loved Yorkshire Three Peaks.
Just down the road from us is the wonderful conservation village of Clapham, with its waterfall and nature walk leading up to the Ingleborough show caves, Gaping Gill and Ingleborough. Some of the finest examples of Yorkshire Dales landscape is to be found here. The villages of Austwick and Feizor lead onto the market town of Settle where you can browse the boutiques and cafes before catching the Settle to Carlisle train over the famouse Ribble head Viaduct.
From Settle you can also choose to walk along the river to Stainforth, famous not only for its leaping salmon and the Stainforth foss and waterfalls, but for the fabulous Hoffman lime kiln which is really worth a visit!
